Would you like to sample some Bailey's Irish cream or some Crown Royal Special Reserve today?

That was a question I asked a lot of people today. I was the Nick's Liquors sample lady today! :) That was a fun job. It took me slightly away from the pressure of the New Year's Eve customers. I was at the counter, and I got to harass the customers when they came up with their purchases. I initially started with Bailey's original and Bailey's caramel, Crown Royal Special Reserve, and El Jimador tequila with margarita mix. The Crown Royal was a big hit, and it soon ran out. The El Jimador and the Bailey's caramel were the next to go. The rest were pretty good, but I still had them when Erin let me go home.

I left work and went to go find a Wii Fit. Unfortunately because I want to just use my Christmas money, I want to get it at Walmart and use my Walmart gift card. I might have to go everyday to check if it's available, or I might look online at the site to store thingy. However, I hope to get it soon.

Going back to my post yesterday about possibly blogging about the Babysitter Club books, I have decided to do that. I hope to start tomorrow with #1 Kristy's Great Idea. I hope to do one or two books a week to get done this year or next year.

Can't think of a title

Hello. Sorry it's been a month since I have written. I have been a little busy. This is a busy couple of weeks at work with the holiday season. Luckily after this week, it should slow down a bit. All this week, I have been scheduled 9 to whatever my boss decides to send me home. Monday it was three and today it was five fifteen. Not sure what it will be tomorrow. My guess is it will be sometime around five. Right now I have no pans fir New Years. Melissa is working until 9, and KT is in Kentucky. I don't remember the last time I was not with Melissa and KT for New years eve. Last year I was lucky and was with Melissa, KT and Doug. I have the day off on New Year's Day because the liquor store has inventory on that day. I thought I might have to work that day, but I was not. I was invited to Nick and Lindsey's new house on New Year's Day afternoon. I have not been there yet, so I am excited to finally go.

Awhile back, KT, Melissa and I went to see the movie New Moon and one of the previews I saw was for a movie called Dear John. The preview said it was based on a book by Nicholas Sparks, and I was interested in the movie, so I decided to read the book. It is about a man who is a soldier on leave, and he meets a girl who changes his life. The book is in the man's perspective, but the movie seems to be in the girl's perspective. I thought it was a little slow at first as they are meeting and falling in love. This book is only 277 pages, and he finally goes back to war after page 100.
I have been interested to read and reread all the Babysitter club books. I grew up loving these books, and there are several I have not read. I came across a blog just like this one where a girl about my age rereads the Babysitter Club books and comments on them. They seem to be kind of negatively commented, where the babysitters are babyish and kind of jerks, but the way she words it is extremely funny. I have thought of creating my own blog on this subject, except, I would go in order from 1 to 131 or something. Maybe something to think about.

So, Chris arrived for his visit yesterday, and we spent the day together because I had requested the day off. We had gone to bed, and when we woke up, Chris needed to use the bathroom. When he came back, he told me the bedroom floor was wet. I was puzzled, so I checked it out. And yes my floor was wet. I checked the bathroom, but there was no water anywhere, and so after further checking the apartment, I noticed that the kitchen floor was completely wet. I opened my fridge and freezer, and I noticed my freezer was leaking water everywhere! It was coming from the ice maker. Chris managed to move the fridge out so he could unplug it. I stayed close by in case he got electrocuted, and I would have to turn off the power and perform CPR. Luckily nothing like that happened. I called and woke my landlord up at 7 in the morning and told him about it because I was afraid this water thing was affecting his side. He came right over, and helped me. Luckily we had most of it under control and Chris was mopping the floor. My landlord brought over a wet dry vac to dry up the floor in my bedroom. He also brought over a couple of fans and a dehumidifier to dry up my bedroom carpet. Luckily, only half of the bedroom was affected, and only clothes was on the floor that was wet. Luckily putting them through the wash will fix them.
Along with Chris visiting, there was another reason why I needed yesterday off from work. I also had to take the Praxis II test for special education. I had to take two tests. One was writing intensive where I had to answer five essay questions on special education beliefs and procedures. The other test was a multiple choice on more procedures and different signs and symptoms of different disabilities. I don't know how I felt about the test, and I don't know how I did. I think the essay portion was ok, and I knew some of the answers on the multiple choice portion. I hate multiple choice tests because I can easily tell the options that definitely are not the answers, but the ones that might be the answers seem to trip me up. Oh well, I hope to get the results soon, and I hope I did good enough to be accepted into student teaching next semester.

I already want this week to be over!

Ok. It's Monday, but I want the week to be over. Lots of stuff do for class Thursday, including a presentation and a midterm. I spent time writing notes after work today, and I've got almost all the questions from the study guide written. So, I'm well on my way. I have to go the Clark High School tomorrow morning and observe another day of classes.

Sundays

I love Sundays! Thanks to my job, it's the only day where I'm guarunteed off. They are trying to pass a law in Indiana that makes it legal to sell alcohol on Sundays. Vote no people! I want to keep my Sundays. Usually I don't like to do anything, but I've got several things due for class on Thursday, so I had to go to the school computer lab to print up things. I went home and typed up most of my educational philosophy paper. I'm almost done with it. I just have to make sure everything flows well and it makes sense. I also have a leson plandue that I'm mostly done with. And then for extra fun, my teacher scheduled our mid term and moved my class presentation to Thursday as well. Boy, well I be glad when this week is over!

I received an interesting email today. Last week, my academic advisor called me to remind me that my student teaching application was due soon, so I finished it and emailed it to the man in charge of that just like my advisor said to do. Well, today, I received an email from the guy saying that he can't accept the application via email, and I have to submit other things as well. My advisor is an idiot! I've felt this way for awhile because whenever I have a meeting with her, she is very spacey. I should have switched awhile ago, but hopefully it won't matter too much now that I'm almost done. I just have to make a special trip to school tomorrow morning before work since I work days all this week, and she made it sound like this needed to be in ASAP.

Introductions

So, this is my first post on my new blog. My name is Megan, and I currently am a graduate student at Indiana University Northwest. I also work my family's liquor store business called Nick's Liquors in Hobart, Indiana.

Work today was insane! I worked 12pm to 8pm. When I got to work, I stated wiping and dusting and wine shelves. Mary and Amy opened today. Mary was on register until 3, so I could clean in peace. It was good from 12 to 3, so I cleaned the whole area. When Mary went home at 3, I took over on the register. It was raining most of the day, but later in the afternoon it had cleared up. so I think that is why I think it was insane because everyone in the world decided they were not going to melt so they decided to come to our store. When Amy left at 5, there were like four groups of people who came in all at once. Erin and Dan had come in at 3, so Erin backed me up on the register. The busyness continued pretty much the rest of my shift. After I closed out the register and Erin took over, I went to count, which took forever because of the stupid credit cards. After about 15 to 20 minutes of searching, I finally found the problem, and found out I was $1.81 over. Yay! When I finally got to my car, I called Chris, but he was either not home or asleep. That's ok. I went home and worked on my Facebook farm. I'm now up to level 16!

Ok. Time to go to bed and read. I'm currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It's pretty good so far. I especially liked the first chapter because it is not like the first chapter of the other Harry Potter books.
